Jessica Titcomb

Pre-Kindergarten 3 Head Teacher

My teaching philosophy incorporates the pedagogies of Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia. I believe that all children are capable explorers, researchers, and designers. I promote the development of creativity by stepping aside to allow mistakes to happen. I believe this to be the best way to teach children to accept different opinions and respect others for who they are.  It is my goal to lay the foundation for a love of life long learning. We will frequently explore various art mediums, spend time outdoors in all weather, read beautiful books, and first and foremost, play!

I grew up in Pennsylvania which is where I earned my undergraduate degree from Saint Vincent College. Some years later, I moved to Vermont, and I completed my M.Ed. at Champlain College, along with obtaining my Montessori Diploma. During the 2025–2026 school year, I participated in an Equity in Education Fellowship. I am also an advocate for affordable quality childcare at the national level, having had the opportunity to meet with our state representatives in Washington, D.C. to support this work.

I live in Jeffersonville with my husband and our five children. I enjoy baking bread, gardening, and spending time outdoors with my children. I also love visiting family in Florida and look forward each year to our summer vacations on Nantucket.
